Hello, I have been thinking of getting a SSD to use as my system disk (c:) and got a concern about how small they are and how to cope with that, (I'm not rich and cant afford a 500$ SSD ^^)

- How big of a SSD would you recommend?

- What do you NOT store on your system disk anymore?

- Should I wait for the price to fall?

I mainly got installed programs/games on my system disk. not any media files or "install files". I even got my documents located at e:\documents, not the usual C:\Users\user\Documents, the same with pictures, music and downloads. I still have 650gb of stuff on my system disk. Its mainly my steam folder (270gb) and also alot of other games/programs that are installed there. I just don't see what I should do if I was limited to a 250/500gb ssd. Id have to uninstall alot of stuffz. ^^

1. I'd say 256GB and up.

2. I don't store anything but windows and other important stuff on there. After about 2 years on this SSD, it is about 70GB used, including a 15GB windows.old file.

3. If you want to, but the prices are pretty good already. I got mine for about 1 euro or about 1.2 dollars per gig :P SSD's cost under half that now.

My PC CPU: 2600K@4.5GHz 1.3v Cooler: Noctua NH-U12P SE2 MB: ASUS Maximus IV RAM: Kingston 1600MHz 8GB & Corsair 1600MHz 16GB GPU: 780Ti Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD, Samsung 830 256GB SSD, Kingston 128GB SSD, WD Black 1TB,WD Green 1TB. PSU: Corsair AX850 Case: CM HAF X. Optical drive: LG Bluray burner  MacBook Pro, Hackintosh

I'm on a 120Gb and I find it hard to manage. I really need to keep it clean betweens downloads and work files which can get quite large.

At first I did a symbolic link of my user folder to my external drive which worked great. But when 8.1 came out, I couldn't install it because of that setup... Sucks
