I have a problem with my CPU temp readings.

Im using a AMD a6 6400k and have been using it for about 10 months now.
Even from the beginning the temps have been off.

Im using stock speeds and stock fan and i have tried to reapply thermal paste but the temps are at 80 to 98 degrees C according to speedfan.
I overclocked it some time ago to 4,3 Ghz instead of 3,9 Ghz and got the same temps.

But when i benchmarked with 3dmark yesterday the cpu temps were at 40 to 50 at the benchmark results.
But NZXT CAM, Speedfan and Core temp all say the temps are between 80 and 100 degrees C.

HWmonitor says the temps without OC,

No load:            68-72 degrees C
With prime95:   94-96 degrees C

HWmonitor seems to be more accurate but they are still Waay to high for stock clock and fan.

the BIOS said the temps were at 58 degrees C when i had a overclock to 4,32 Ghz.

But i would not be suprised if it is the motherboard becouse it is pretty low grade after all.

Getting in the 90s in P95 are normal temps if OC'ed.

I know.

But i do not have any overclock at the moment and the temps have always been in the 70-100 area.

it normal for the stock fan

i will suggest getting the CoolerMaster 212 Evo/Plus or TX4

Upgrade your cooler to the CM 212 EVO.

My friend has an A10 5800K and he says most programs won't even read a temperature and if they do its crazy high, so I'm guessing its just an APU thing.

the APU has 2 things inside the die

the CPU and the decent GPU

of course the APU is hot

the only issue is the stock cooler is junk

Upgrade your cooler to the CM 212 EVO.

Im planning on getting one later.

The problem is that the stock fan from the CPU doesnt even cool it enough to be under 70/80 without any load.

No stock fan should be that worthless.

Im using a dedicated GPU so the integrated one is disabled through bios.

The temps would probably be 100+ with integrated graphics.

hmm

get a decent cooler which I mentioned

you will reduce the temps by a lot more than the stock cooler

the TX4 uses the stock mount without the need to access the rear backplate

I really dont mind if the temps are too high.

My problem is that HWmonitor, NZXT CAM and SpeedFan says the temps are at 70-100 degrees C

And 3Dmark says the temps were at 50-70 when i benchmarked firestrike.

HWMonitor is the closest in term of temps readings

you can use your BIOS to measure

both shouldn't be off by a few degrees

The BIOS CPU temps are at 50 degrees C

Kinda annoying that i cant see accurate temps in real time.

BIOS displays package temperature which is usually lower than core temp.

I suggest figuring out what the highest package temp is.

HWmonitor says the package temp is at
68 without any load
106 degrees C top when benchmarking Firestrike
101 degreesC top whith Prime95

But 3Dmark says the temps were at 52 degrees C top.

Getting a new cooler wont help the f*cked up temp readings.
