Is intel worth the cost premium?

My build is 880$ with AMD and over 1000$ with an Intel CPU. is Intel worth it? I will be gaming primarily.

The i5 4690K is worth it, but the i7 isn't (at least for gaming).

AMD 8350

a 8350 will do fine for gaming. For gaming, you dont need any more than that.

The 8350 just costs as much as a 4670k, the i5 is better for gaming depends on which ones.

If you are the kind of user, who has over 9000 tabs open in browser and multiple movies and streams at the same time, the extra cores will help. If not just go with Intel. (AMD FX-8350 user here)

Hell even throwing back to the 2500k/2600k would be plenty for years to come until game programmers get their asses in gear or get tossed to the curb by the generations of college grads coming with expertise in high performance computing.
