Will an H100i fit in the front of a 300R?

Can I ask, why not just fit it to the top?

 

It can be fit in the front though it requires modding the case

Sure you can.

 

I thought that the possibility for push/pull would be larger if I mounted it in the front of the case.

 

What kind of modding would have to be done? Do you know that?

 

Also, I read somewhere that you will have to have low profile RAM and slim fans in order to fit it in the top?

If you were to step your case up to a 400R you would have enough room to top mount the H100i along with the included fans, leaves enough clearance for ram, just makes a few ports a bit tricky to reach.

 

In the 300R you definitely want to go with slim fans, low profile RAM, and maybe even a low profile board just in case.

You dont need low profile ram, and slim fans are only required if your board has tall VRMs on

 

I had to mount my h100i through the holes in the mesh on my 300r (not the pre drilled holes) so I could move it towards the window by about 1cm so it cleared the motherboard, otherwise it would have fitted fine

 

I use the MSI z87 gaming board
