British government pushing new laws to make spying legal again.

Oshino Shinobu

In April this year, the European Court ruled that if ISPs kept data on their customers for too long, it would be considered a breach of their human rights. This ruling would make all ISPs delete the data they have collected so far and stop any current and future mass data collection. Good, right?

Well, the British government has pushed through its own legislation that makes it legal for them to keep data on citizens and to continue their mass surveillance. (Good old Cameron) They insist that it is necessary to protect us from terrorists, hackers, pedophiles and most likely goblins and bogeymen.

This just seems like a massive abuse of power and the legal system. They insist that mass surveillance is necessary, even though there are many ways that can catch pedophiles, hackers and goblins that don't breach every citizen's rights.
