I'm looking for a good optical mouse, preferably with some macro/extra keys. Mid weight, below $90 (Aus). I'd like it to either be blue or a shade (black, white, grey ect). I don't need fancy led's and shit like that. I don't really care about if it can go "over 9000" dpi. TBH 2500 would be fine for me. I also do not know much about mice.

There are a few I have looked at so far:

Logitech G502. Seems like a good mouse all round. Not sure if I dig the looks but apart from that it fares well in reviews, and with the limited time I have played with it, it seemed to fit my claw grip nicely, and the buttons were in the right places. Anyone own one here?

Func MS3 R2. I like the clean look of this one. Never used it though and it doesn't look like it is very suited to claw grip. Also heard it is slightly heavy.

http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=258_697_698&products_id=27688

Mionix Naos 7000. I just used it once, felt alright. I don't know much more about it.

Which is best out of those 3? Also any other suggestions are welcome. I'm not dead set on those.

Anyone know a good hard mouse mat to?

The Protious core is a very good mouse.  But beware there are some issues with the mouse like the feet scratching off quickly etc but those will probably get fixed as time goes on, so if your willing to wait I'd recommend it.

I use a Logitech G400s and its very good too, its got a fantastic sensor, no weights or anything its got everything you need, nothing you dont.  Pretty bare bones but works like a charm.

However, if it was me.  I would go for the Func mouse, because its got a nice design and looks really comfortable. The only problem is its grip type is already carved out and you need to grip it a certain way.

G400S Or bust, trust me man one of the best optical ones out there

if you want a solid mouse pad go for a steelseries qck

I have the ms3 r2 and there are a couple of things I don't like. Firstly the sensor doesn't feel as responsive as the deathadder, to such a point I feel considerable lag when playing high speed games. Secondly the pinky finger rest makes it difficult to be accurate with it since you have no contact with the mouse mat. I would have to solidly recommend the Deathadder, especially the latest one (2013) and if you don't like the green leds you can turn them off. Definitely worth going to a store to try them.

I looked at the G400s but it only has two side buttons and they are sort in the wrong place.

When I was talking to a friend about this and mentioned the death adder she said that hers had broken and I should steer clear. Any problems with yours at all?

I would not get deathader for 2 reassons: A: I will never get a razer product, other than the blade.

B: People reported them, bbreaking

Did wireless make a problem of itself?

Not for me. It finally after a few months said 5% but it has said that for a week and is still fine. You can also put only 1 battery to make it lighter

No problems, my brother currently uses one and I used to have one (gave it to someone to borrow and never got it back) and I know a few people who use them and swear by it.

The internet is full of people hating razer, or determined not to buy their products because someone they know said they are bad. In reality the chance of a faulty product is very slim and returnable in the case it is. Razer is a good company and their products are really good, they just get a bad name because of the hate train (I've been on both sides with products DOA and perfectly working specimens).

I'm not a fan boy I just hate to see a company get a bad name when it's not their fault.

@maxvons is the fastest in the west  ;)

+ Razer Deathadder? ( Not a huge fan of Razer and some people are complaining about the build "quality".

But I'm not going to criticize Razer, because I don't have any experience in Razer products)

What differences do they have in the specs?(except for the DPI 3500 3.5G infraded sensor, 6400 DPI 4G optical sensor)

The new DA has lots of smoothing and not the best build quality.

I don't mind corsairs software (I have an m90 atm), but I think i might go with the G502/death adder. Any experience with them?

G400s, Mionix 7000, G502 and deathadder are the best mice on the market and unless you are looking for a specific feature and you are ready to lose all performance you should pick one of these.

I keep hearing shit on the death adder. People reporting breakages. Two people I know have had them break and reddit (hurdur great source [sarcasm]) is full of people saying not to buy the death adder, and calling anyone who reccomends it a fanboy (classic reddit) I like the look of it apart from the green, so should I really be worried about it's build quality and shit. Pretty cheap for razer to.

My experience with the G502 has been great. It's not my perfect mouse though. The ergonomics are good, except it's a bit too thin. The sniper button is annoying, and I removed it. The sensor is good, but I honestly can't feel that much of a difference. I felt more accurate with the G400s, mainly because of the weight.

My experience with the Deathadder has been horrible. Right button loose after 5 months of use, and it double clicks, the mouse is also too small too palm for me, and the right side is really badly designed. The weight is ok, the sensor always felt slightly weird. I would not recommend it.
