EK, better quilty IMO and their stuff looks alot better.

does it really matter when it comes to blocks?

The performance difference is marginal but EK has the better looking water blocks and waaay more options. Acetal only refers to the top cover of the block. It's either Acetal which means it has a copper block or Acetal + Nickel which means it has a copper block with nickel plating which protects better against corrosion. If you want an Acetal top cover get an acetal + nickel waterblock.

Go with whatever looks better in your build. There is 0 performance difference. Both are some of the highest quality watercooling component manufacturers in the world. It all comes down to personal preference :)

oh also which coolant? 

If you want a colorful coolant, go with mayhem. They have the best looking coolant on the market and you can pretty much get your color spot on with what ever color scheme you are going for..Other then that, I would just get distilled water.

Yes absolutely, just make sure you add a kill coil in with distilled water if you are going to be using Copper blocks, nickel blocks really dont need kill coils :)

Don't use a kill coil if you get nickel blocks.  Use an additive like liquid utopia.

 

As for the pump, D5 or DDC.  The D5 is quieter and has better flow, the DDC consumes less power and has higher head pressure.  Up to you.

D5 (MCP-655), quieter, more power. Distilled water with a silver res plus like Monsoon makes and a biocide like DeadWater is a good way to go.
