Dirac, the new sfx psu champion

Well there is a another Japanese company, moar Japanese music i guess.

 

Well then Dirac which is some japanese company is smashing its way into the sfx market, two sfx psus to show both at 80+gold they are 550w or 650w. This beats out silverstones 600w psu and its the same size so it adds that extra juice, if its needed of course.

 

Im not sure about the coloured cables but the wires are flat(eg like corsair rm psus). And of those cables there is 24-pin ATX, 4+4 pin EPS(cpu power), two 6+2 pin PCIe, six SATA, and one Berg cable(google it).

 

It also comes with a bracket if this psu some how makes its way into a standard sized case.

 

 

The down side is that there is no release date, price, availability and try googling Dirac, ive never heard of them before and that makes it risky to buy anything from them.

Why would they have one of the floppy-ish connectors on it? Those style connectors are hardly ever (if ever) used anymore.

i blame the japanese, they do things differently, they probably have 14.4tb floppy drives.

Nothing you said is proved, they may have a gold PSU with 50 more watts to give than Silverstone, but that doesn't mean it's any better, or any form of "champion". In fact, this thing could have a fan with the sound of a jet turbine and spontaneously combust when overloaded.

It is the new leader in terms of how much power it can output, of course you are right its not best to just have raw power if the other parts arent considered, im not recommending this psu as ive not heard of the company, no idea what the quality is like as a lot of things are left out also i want to know the company which made the internals. Well at any rate it cant be worse then the fx 5800 ultra

You too can have a 4 pin powered PC, it's super efficient, requires a multitude of extra supplementary connectors, and makes your motherboard look like a octopus!

The PSU looks decent though, very good for a high end ultra watercooled mitx rig.

The form factor is really good but not sure how good it will be in terms of cooling and performance ( such as voltage regulation and control).

Note, this "SFX" power supply has 20mm additional width compared to the silverstone's sfx series..
