Seen a few posts stating they were looking for a 3770K, I found one for pretty cheap - Almost new.

Exactly, 'locally' this is Australia, where products prices are inflated.

I could only find a 3770 non 'k' for $350 new from a reputable seller  (Specifically Centercom) 

And 'K' version for $374.

Mine wasn't from a shop but Craigslist. There's usually a few around if you live near a major city. At least it's been like that for every major city I've lived in.

The CPU's are similarly priced up here.
