HDD directly under graphics card

DirtyFish

So, I have pretty much finished building my PC, and since the top PCI slot is sort of blocked by the CPU cooler, I put the GPU in the second slot, which means that the HDD under it is pretty damn close to the exhaust fan. Should I be worried about this and try and find somewhere better to mount my HDD? Or is it cool and should work fine?

The exhaust fan draws air in, not expels it. Your hard drive is fine, your graphics card may be starving for air though, check the temps on it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Fire up Furmark though and observe the temperature.

Huh, turns out I didnt even look at the card before assuming which way the air went, shouldn't be too bad then. Cheers

In which case it is called an intake not an exhaust :)

Shush, it causes the air to exhaust.

I'd be more concerned in knowing if your second slot is running at x16 or x8.

I'm pretty sure its x16, I think the manual said the motherboard has 2 pcie x16 slots, so I assume its alright...
