Can you guys recommend any quality thermal paste that is reasonably priced?

What are precautions I should take while reapplying the thermal paste?
Thanks. :P

well i always have tube of mx-4 lying around but there are obviously better once. when it comes to reapplying just make sure you clean the ihs and the coolerplate thoroughly with alcohol or some special cleaner and make sure you dont use too much

Most people think $5-8 is reasonable enough for thermal compound I do believe. Personally I think anywhere from $5-15 is reasonable, so I will suggest the following:

NT-H1 or MX-4. Clean the surface of the dye you're applying it to with something like isopropyl alcohol. Don't touch the surface with your fingers, so you don't leave behind oily residue. Don't use too much.

I have used IC Diamond on several CPUs, good temps,  but tends to etch the lid of your cpu (also need to warm it up before application)....Noctua has their NT-H1 which is good stuff as well.

Whatever you choose, clean your CPU with isopropyl alcohol and coffee filters (no lint) or Arctic Cooling's cleaning compound.....
