I find air vehicles were nerfed way to much to be anything close to effective such as attack heli. I mean you used to see a heli and go hide now I just laugh and think its a fly. Personally I find bf3 to be a more fun game

What's your point then? It's far too different to be DLC. Should they just not release it at all?

My point is you and many other's are trying to act like it's a "whole new game" where it is, infact, quite possible to pass it off as DLC that "looks" new.

That's like saying Dota 1 and 2 are completely different game's. Give dota1 the graphical polish dota2 has. After playing the original you could do on to say dota2 had several patches and updates to get where it is atm. You can see that with BF3->4. Hardline look's like BF4 got a major patch to freshen things up. To say it looks nothing like that and it's a new fandango game that "just happens" to have everything bf4 is simply you lot being stupid and blind.

My new xmas handmade jumper in green, wrapped in blue paper is no different from my other identical new machine made jumper in red, wrapped in white paper.

So by that logic all FPS games are the same or could be DLC that "looks new".

But then where do you draw the line? Is a different look, new theme, new game modes, new maps, a new (and brilliant) unlock system as well as an overhauled engine, all of which has next to nothing other than the base engine in common with Battlefield 4, not enough to warrant a separate release? 15 years ago Hardline could very well have been a mod (although a very elaborate one, something which we've rarely seen and even more rarely seen succeed), but we don't live in the Half-Life age anymore and mod support is not a thing other than in very few games.

But I get it. Life as a consumer is terrible and we should live for free. People who work hard to bring us excellent content don't deserve to be paid for their blood, sweat and tears. They are simply not worthy.

You are part of the reason Dev's and Publisher's think it's okay to charge full price for something not even worth half the price. Just because it's not "back in the day" of the mod-glorious day's doesn't mean they can charge full game price for something that isnt a full game. Everything you've listed as being "new" in hardline has already been done with BF3 and 4 Preminum DLC's, the only difference being different filters to give it a new look and a different unlock system. < - those 2 thing's warrant a full game price and title? Nah don't think so.

And it's the same engine as BF4

@The last line of sentences..... seriously? Wtf has that got to do with anything previously mentioned? I'll happily (and have done) pay for game's that people work hard to make. What i won't pay for (that you seem to be stupidly find doing) are product's that claim are "new" when in reality they are Version 1.5 of the previous product yet still want full price.

Yes. The PC version of BF4 is much better than the console experience. Granted, the changes aren't that drastic that you couldn't have fun on console afterwards, but the gunplay on PC feels a lot better. If you're in to vehicles and the like, there won't be that much of a difference between the platforms. However, if you love playing as infantry, you won't regret buying BF4 on PC.

The gun does really feel good in hardline.

Have you even played Hardline? It really sounds like you haven't. New maps come with DLC yes, but the game modes don't. I've got 4 friends who got into the beta as well (just like everyone else) and from the 28-30 hours we spent on the game we all agreed that there was no way this could be released as DLC. I will openly admit that when I saw the leaked footage I was expecting it to be another attempt at a F2P game but it turned out it was much more than that. I'm curious though, how would you like to have seen EA release Hardline? And don't be that guy who says for free, be realistic. What would have been a better way of executing it?

I got day1 Beta access like most people. Please get this notion that i seem to want it for free out of your head, i've made it quite clear i don't feel that way. I've already stated it's EXACTLY like the DLC's of BF3/4, all you have to do is combine 2 or 3 from each respective game and you get new game modes/maps/guns etc (and yes new game modes DID come with the dlc, did you even play the any of the bf3/4 dlc?) Heist = Obliteration and Blood Money = Capture the flag, obv both being slight variants. Don't see why they think charging full price for what is essentially recycled bf3/4 given a new lick of paint.

I'm well aware that new gamemodes have been introduced with DLC. I have absolutely no clue how you can compare any of those game modes but let's just put that aside. So you want it released as DLC? How is that gonna work with the completely different theme of the game?

How can you not compare them? Stop being daft and take a moment to actually look at them, i also stated they are slight variations. Have 2 instead of one, a fixed location instead of random spawns etc, replace cash with flags and bombs. Yes it's comparable. And seriously, why do you keep inserting thing's that i don't say then pass it off as if i did? Go look at my last sentences in my last 2 post's.

I'm just asking you how you would have liked EA to release Hardline. It's a simple question. And as for the game modes

Blood Money: Blood Money is an objective game mode that pits cops and robbers against each other in a fight to seize a large sum of money from the opposing team.

Heist: Heist is an objective game mode where the robbers try and blow open a vault and escape with the cash.

Obliteration: Obliteration in Battlefield 4 is a destruction-focused game mode (hence the name) where players are tasked with destroying certain high-value targets placed around the map in order to win the match. A bomb randomly spawns on the map, and it’s up to players to quickly pick up the bomb and use it to destroy enemy targets.

Capture The Flag: Each team has a flag, and the objective is to capture the enemy flag and return it to the home base.

The only similarity between Heist and Obliteration is explosions. There is no bomb-element in Heist at all, just as there is no escape element in Obliteration, the two defining features of both game modes. Heist != Obliteration.

The only similarity between Blood Money and Capture The Flag is the element of stealing something from the enemy, however this element in itself differs a lot form Capture the Flag and is only part of it all. Several players can steal money from the enemy at once, you can capture said money while the enemy team is stealing money from you, you are not pinned on the map and biggest of all there's an alternate source to steal from. Blood Money != Capture The Flag.

These game modes are similar the same way apples and oranges are similar, they're both fruits.

All you are doing is going by their descriptions then going "nope not similar", just because they have described in what happens in a game mode does not mean you can't substitute A for B/C or add A to B+C. As i said variations. That you are refusing to see, which make them similar. Stop focusing on one thing i say in a sentence and ignore the rest of it, you're like a lawyer only wanting a certain line to be read out of context to help your argument.

As for your 1st sentence, i've already told you AND where to look. Why is this hard?

Are you kidding me right now? Of course I'm going by the descriptions of the game modes because that's what they are. Blood Money and capture the flag are just as similar as Conquest and Team Deathmatch. And could you please repeat your answer "loud and clear" then because I've missed it.

I wouldn't say that Battlefield: Hardline and Battlefield 4 are the same, just 'reskinned.' It's a much more fun and teamwork (to a lesser extent) based gameplay. I would have to say that if BFH's launch isn't as bad as BF4's, I'll get it.

BF4 is a good game but I'd get it for 20 pounds max. Try G2A.

With that kind of logic, how can you think it's okay to buy any modern first person shooter? All of the game modes in all of them have been done before. It's nothing new. Conquest has been done. Rush has been done. TDM has been done. It's highly likely Battlefield 5 will have all 3 of them.

Why is it okay for DICE to release a new campaign, maps, weapons, gadgets, vehicles, games mechanics, etc, etc... and yet, Hardline must obviously just be EA cashing in on what should be a BF4 expansion?

What, is your only criteria for whether or not a game has enough new content to warrant full price based on whether or not that game has a new engine?

"A picture is starting to form here... I wonder if it's accurate? Some pieces don't quite seem to fit. Or maybe I just don't like the way it looks."

That's why it's called "Battlefield" Hardline.

It's also plenty different enough. You're just being stubborn. Like those people who thought Left 4 Dead 2 should be released as an expansion instead of a full sequel release.
