Yes. However on topic of that CPU i would advise to go for a 6300 as there is next to no extra cost and a lot more performance to be had.

Please, include more details when asking this kind of question. Do you plan to overclock? What gpu will you be using? Are you looking for something specific in a motherboard? Is there any I/O you can't live without? Etc.

 

By the way that's a pretty old board and is designed for phenoms, I'd look for something more recent with the 990x chipset at least. It's fine, but not great.

Yeah as far as you're not going to oc a lot... but If you're going to buy that CPU get the 6300 instead... they're about a little difference.

4.0 is easily doable on a 970 board.

Oh just rip off the chipset and put a 970 on it. If that doesn't work make a pentagram with fairy dust and call it a day.
