HDD Preventing boot

Go to solution Solved by Cataclym,

Hello, I know it took awhile but problem solved.
What i did was putting windows on a CD, disconnected HDDs and booted up from CD and cleanly installed. And after that my razer synapse worked for the FIRST time in my life xD And I kept most of my things because of mostly installing things on my HDDs :) Thx guys :D

Hello, ok so I am trying to remove my 2nd HDD (got an ssd with W8, and two HDDs with random stuff) on my 2nd one there is an old W7 OS that I can't remove :o !! Anyways, my issue is when I remove this 2nd HDD and boot it up it stops in the boot and tell me to put a drive in! (Don't quite remember the error). Does anyone know about this issue?

SSD is a 120 GB Kingston SSDNo
1st HDD is a Green Caviar 1TB
2nd is from my old laptop 500GB From the K53U Asus "ultrabook". 500GB 5400rpm/7200rpm

Could your recreate the issue and get the exact error?

sometimes the bios will change things be sure you always have the ssd set to your boot drive. If it's a desktop jsut unplug the others and when you see the windows logo plug them in. "Don't unplud before you turn the system off"

The SSD contains my current OS, and the issue HDD has an old W7 that i can boot, but won't work correctly!

If you don't need the old win 7 files just back up the old data and formate the drive. Or just delete all the files individually so you don't have to format.

First, need exact error, also, on the 2nd drive, you cannot delete the old Win7 install because the permissions will still be locked for the old install users. You will need to take ownership and then replace all the permissions on that install to be able to delete it. Trust me, this can be a pain and may need to do it a few times.

its mostlikely becaus you installed win while have the other hdd installed so it just added the boot info to the existing boot file thingy on your hdd so now when ever you remove it cant it

you should try changing your boot drive in your bios and see if that works.

have you checked to see that your SSD is running in the bios in AHCI mode and not IDE?

hmmm, what if I uninstall the two partitions of the drive?

Unplug the two hard drives leaving the SSD in place then do a refresh install of Windows 8 following the instructions here:

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2293-refresh-windows-8-a.html

After make sure windows 8 boots with just the SSD. Then re-add the 2 HDDs, set the bios to use the SSD as the boot device.

Ok so my error is the following : 10438926_668914839866719_537348344579186

And no I can't delete or format that drive... I don't have permission :(

I already did :) No difference :P

I think maybe the port that your plugged it into doesn't function correctly. Try a different SATA port.

Basically boot your computer from the Windows install disk. Or make a WIndows install usb drive.

Keep only your W8 drive plugged in. Boot into bios and make sure it's set as #1 boot device.

Attempt to boot.

If not, boot up normally with all drives.

Go to PC Info > Top left corner click Advanced System Settings > Startup and Recovery > Advanced and make sure Win8 is selected as default
