Anybody with a 7950...

How do they perform? I do have some games I would to know how they perform in (min, max, avg) and at what settings.

Google R9 280 benchmarks to get a good idea of recent driver performance, it's basically the same card.

 

Recent comparisons will show the 280 as ouperforming the old benches of the 7950, and in my opinion that has a lot to do with driver updates over the last 2 years.

Its a great card for 1080p.  Its similar to the 280.

Its basically a 280, maybe 10% less powerful.  Check some 280 benchmarks, should be great for 1080p gaming especially after cranking in a decent OC.

I've got a OC'ed Vapor-X HD 7950...in my brother's computer.

I could probably "borrow" it for a little bit and run some tests in my system. On your list of games I only got BF3 and BF4. He's got BF3, Far Cry 3, and Saints Row The Third, but his CPU bottlenecks the 7950 quite a bit (he was only using a little HD 6870 before I upgraded it for him).

i am getting more than 50 fps on these games with a 7850 (with a 3570K though) so you pretty much should expect more

Had XFX 7950 many moons ago...when BF3 rolled out, still had it. Maxed out settings and had a good time.  Sorry, but no FPS counter active when playing but no lag from what I remember.....now my 7970 does the work in my rig.

K...well fair warning...the cooler is well...LOUD.  Yes..yelling due to the noise...really though, if memory serves between 55-65% was audible with a headset.  It did do its job and keep temps down..

My 7950 can play bf3, bf4, far cry 3 maxed out with low AA very well.  This card is a great overclocker if you get a good cooler (MSI, Asus, gigabyte, sapphire)

I bought a Sapphire 7950 off a friend about a month ago, and while I can't tell you how it performs due to it currently being paired with an ancient Core 2 Quad (upgrading within the next few days), I can say that, on Ultra, the system gets like 20 FPS, but that's with the GPU usage being around 30% due to the CPU bottleneck.

I have been able to max out every game I've played with my 7950. The only one that had lag when maxed out was Metro 2033. This is paired with a i5 3570k at the time until I upgraded to a i7 3770k. I maxed out Far Cry pretty easily. I don't remember the frames exactly but it was like 45 frames at least. This is all at 1080p. Btw the card can OC like CRAAAAAAZY.

Tested this on an overclocked 7950@1050/1500 | 1080p

 

Personally tested

Battlefield 4 = Ultra = 50,80,65 | High  = 65, 120, 85

Far Cry 3 = Need to lower AA and AO(i think) to maintain 60FPS

Saint's Row: The Third = Max with 4xAA = 60,>60,>=60

 

Not tested

Battlefield 3 = Probably 20%-30% more fps compare to BF4 on Ultra

GTA: San Andreas = I think you could max it out and still get >9000 fps

Saint Row IV = No idea

MX vs ATV Reflex = No idea

Need for Speed: Carbon = Same as San Andreas
