Editing apps are usually highly threaded so the quad core will be a better choice :)

I'm going to be building a gaming/video editing PC, and I've narrowed down my choices between 2 processors, the Intel i3-4150 (3.5 GHZ Dual-core), and the Intel i5-4590 (3.3 GHZ Quad-Core). I was wondering which processor would be the best for my needs, as I am going to be running Photoshop and Premiere Pro quite often, and will be doing some moderate to heavy gaming. Which would be best?

Of course an i3 dual-core is better than an i5 quad-core.

Less cores more FPS, You know OP Cores is what is eating the FPS...

 

I would recommend a Pentium 4 from 2005.Single core gives most FPS. But have you checked out the ZERO core CPUs? They are amazing in games!

i5, dual core is no use for me personally

Quad core, but have you considered a Pentium G2358? Those things, when overclocked, can compete with a Core i5-4690K.
