MSI R9 290x or Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x

Meijilol

Hey,

I'll probably be able to purchase a MSI R9 290X, yes X, tonight for 300€. I wanted to buy the Tri-x version for about 330€.

Should I go with the MSI though the cooler is not as good?

With R9 290 always go with the one with the best cooler those cards (atleast from what I have heard/read) can get really hot

No, they are not. 290x has more cores.

Without sales, brand new MSI R9 290x is 500€ whereas brand new Sapphire R9 290 tri-x is 330€.

Is the title correct? Twin Frozr 290x or 290 Tri-x?

If so, the 290x, no question about it. If both are 290x's, then go Sapphire.

Tri-X wins hands down against Twin Frozr IMO, get a Tri-X 290X if you can.

if possible find a 290x with discounts and rebates

Yes, it was a MSI 49 290x.

I bought it today, 300€.

I would have bought a Sapphire if I could have but no sales for these.

I hope the Twin Frozr will do his job. Does somebody has it? It could be nice to hear some feedback (not a bad one, please xD).

I really am not a hardcore gamer so I don't care to put all the freakin details if that prevents the card from melting.

i have a GTX 780 twinfrozr gaming card and i absolutely love it, it's cool and very quiet. Good quality and nice looking. Cant tell about the AMD GPU but the cooler itself is defenetly a good one.
