i7 4790k compatibility with Z87 boards

Hey guys was wondering if anyone out there knows why the i7 4790k is listed to be compatible with the ASUS MAXIMUS VI IMPACT but not the ASUS MAXIMUS VI FORMULA.

Eeh dont think so. This cpu is for the chipset. Z97

Should be compatible with both.  Might just be an error considering the CPU is so new.

It is compatible with a BIOS update.  You will have to have a non-devil's canyon CPU in order to apply the BIOS update.

alright sweet i dont think im going to buy one just was curious cuz i saw the list and thought my board would be on it but it wasnt

You can flash asus bios with nothing but the board if it supports bios flashback.
