Blue screen when i try to run a virus scan

Whenever i try to run a virus scan on my pc after i rebuilt it i get an instant blue screen and i have no clue why. Any ideas and whats causing and how to maybe fix it?

What anti-virus are you using? What temps are you getting? Is all of your hardware properly seated in your system?

but if that don't give you an answer

 

it might be a virus shutting you down when you run anti virus

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Im just using Norton cus it was free from comcast and ive used it before and it worked fine. My temps and everything are normal and everything is seated properly.

Yes. Norton is total crap, try Avira or something, I mean windows defender is better than norton

Yeah i think it was just Norton being stupid, i tried the free trial of AVG that 

dragoon20005 linked me to and its running a scan now just fine.

It came up clean as a whistle, i dont really have anything installed on it yet just a few of my games and stuff so there wasnt much to scan. But norton gave me this big red exclamation mark warning saying i havent ran a scan in like 14 days and my computer may be at risk! And i had a feeling it was clean because i am very picky when it comes to downloads and where i get stuff from so i wasnt really expecting there to be some huge problem.
