So, I've just bought a 600 euro mining pc, but I also want to mine with my gaming setup. How do the Antminer U2 work? Do I just plug it in my gaming pc and they will mine for me meanwhile I'm gaming? And are they easy to setup?

I'm thinking on getting around 5 of them.

Best regards,

Noxz

I doubt you will ever make back the 600 euros that you spent.

The price of Bitcoin (and therefore other crypto currencies) was manipulated by Mt. Gox. You are never ever going to make back the money you spent.

You will make about 0.04$ per day/per antminer u2. That's not taking power into account.

Do not buy the antminer U2, they are far to expensive per g/hash. They are nothing more than paperweights unless you can get them cheaper than $3 (even that price will soon be questionable)

Set up of the ASIC's can vary, it is more or less just plug and point mining software at them. It really depends how you have it connected to your main computer, usb, network, etc.

ASICs do not affect performance of the host device in anyway. This allows you to have manage ASICs using just a few raspberry pi's.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Any little USB miners are a terrible value, just compare a Antminer U2 to an Antminer S1. The S1 gets 200GH overclocked, for $120 from Bitmaintech. The U2 gets 2GH, so unless you can find it for about $1.50....yeah......

Mining is dead.

Yup, just like PC gaming.

I meant it was dead in the sense that its not worth it to get into it unless you already have gotten into it.

Mining is far from dead. Using gen 1 hardware to mine does today not compete, or compare in anyway to the current gen 4 hardware that's just around the corner. 4 generations in less than 2 years, each with a massive efficiency, in speed, power consumption, and price over the previous.

I've said many times, mining is a zero-sum game over the long run. When you buy newer, and more efficient hardware what you put in, is roughly the same amount you hope to get out. It's not "free" money or a way to make an easy profit.

Markets on a very low low... in all honesty I'd almost just recommend buying 4 Radeon r9 290x on ebay and flashing them with stock bios then trying to rma them set up a BA gaming pc(maybe have it mine while you sleep) and if prices rise again switch to mining full time and have it then pay for it's self (use coins from the 290s to buy Asics to mine more coins)

You won't make 600 euros in a month, no way no how. Set yourself up with some GPUs and go for a coin with lower difficulty and a decent future (can be hard to predict). With the purchase and electricity expeses if you don't stockpile a coin and wait for it to rise in demand and price than you'll be doing worthless calculations.
