They really remove the simple look of the keyboard with large knobs

They do, but they're functional, so I'm not complaining.

Didn't some Microsoft membrane keyboard have this? I remember having one a few years ago before moving to mechanical, the brightness control was "meh FN+something would suffice" and the volume control would lag horrendously at times (though likely more due to shitty drivers than volume knobs suck)

 

IMO it looks ugly and I would rather control brightness/volume through standard keys, but then i also don't feel the need to get an RGB keyboard so will just stick with my current keyboards,

I know they want to keep up with the competitions and have something different, I mean Logitech and Corsair mech keyboards have volume scroll wheels and everyone seems to like them, DAS keyboard 4 has a volume wheel and it looks awesome with that red accent, but those 2 knobs... um... yeah...I don't think so. Those might be handy, but aesthetics wise, I think Ducky messed up big time.
