Worst Computer Advice You've Ever Given Someone?

nosirrah123

To freeze a HDD. Can't remember what issue I had with it but apparently it was a viable solution.

It didn't work.

I briefly resurrected a 2.5" notebook drive this way (a "clicker"), sealed it in an antistatic bag and froze it overnight. It lasted just long enough to grab some important files, maybe 3-4 minutes, before it was gone for good. It's a Hail Mary pass, last resort type of thing for quickly recovering data, because afterwards the drive will probably never work again.

Are you threatening me?!
