Anybody know of a graphical issue with smearing on the screen constantly? 

It's like... water. But on your screen constantly and it covers 20-40% of the top half of the screen.

I wonder if they will put access to the locked out assets in, or continue to ignore the elephant in the room..

Playing second fiddle to a modder in programming your own game correctly is a bit embarrassing IMO, but is it as embarrassing as admitting gimping it to achieve platform parity?

i only get it with 2, 4 or 8x MSAA, so you gotta chose water vs alising (unless your running 1600p/4k)

Good reasons to...

They shouldn't have to patch it at all. The bugs shouldn't be game breaking like they are in a lot of cases. Patching smaller bugs, yeah sure, but fixing the game in a patch...those companies can fuck off and complete there games first...

i'd suggest doing a print screen of fxaa and then a screenshot of temporal smaa and smaa and seeing what the difference is, other than the issue you talk of ive had no issues with watchdogs i run high on 1080p with my 7850 anywhere from 35fps minimum to 40fps average with some peaks upto 60 but around 40-45 on average. on high with temp msaa.

thats what we get for becoming a connected world, used to be ship your game with bugs, your not ganna sell much xD but now the internets everywhere so devs and just push out patches as they please

No, but really, that was both hilarious and sadly reflective of the state of AAA gaming these days. Either games just aren't as fun as they used to be, I've changed to the point that no normal (read: concept/genre rehashed over and over and over and over) game is fun, or some third option I can't think of. 

I feel like it's the first option though.

the patch seems have fix some of the game performance and i can tell it runs better. i recorded a video and it is uploading now. also, the patch didn't enable any of the effect from the graphics mod so uhh the mod is still needed if you want those but the mod currently is broken due to the patch so looking for an update on it.

The patch (if it is the patch) is only 58mb and didn't change a thing besides having the game version at the start screen. the stutter is still there. I really hope this was just a pre patch

Mine was 14GB! I think maybe it just re-downloaded the entire game for some reason :P

I can actually play the game at 25-45 FPS, even while driving! With everything max, except LoD on low (because that mainly uses the CPU), it runs like a dream compared to before...

 

I call this worth the wait. I can finally play!

The simple fact is we shouldn't need a patch to make a game, any game, playable.

 

I rather see a delay of launch then launching a broken game.
