Cheap quiet case fans

Go to solution Solved by loccilucas,

They cost 17€/fan. Do you think it's actually worth it, or should I just buy a new case already?

EDIT: I found be quiet's fans that cost 12€/fan which is more acceptable. One more question.. Uf I buy them, will I be able to take them and put then into a new case when I buy it? I mean are there still holes for 80mm fans in them?

Yeah, if I were you I'd just buy a new case and not the fans, as you probably won't get 80mm fan mounts in new cases.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget?

Specs?

These aren't cheap.

$30 for two, I think that's pretty cheap. Plus they probably are the best and most customizable fans in terms of looks

and they push a lot of air. I have 11 of these :)

My eleven Corsair Quiet Edition fans beg to differ

My bequiet silent wings 2 want to have a word in that conversation.

No but it's really just a question of how you control them. A T-Balancer can bring down the noise of any fan significantly. For me personally, my AF 140 'quiet' edition was way too loud so i had to up the anti and move away from Corsair fans, allthough they are good performers. :-/

who cares...

True, but the Quiet Editions just have a different motor that doesn't make weird clicking sounds at low RPMs. The quiet editions are made to use low voltage adapters :)

I'd like to go sub 20€/$. I live in europe. More specifically in Slovenia. I have gtx 660 ti (150W) and q8400 (80W). I use a very old case with space for 1front intaking fan and one rear exhaust fan. Tell me if you still need to know anything more.

If the cast is old I doubt the fans will be 120mm, do you know what size the fan mounts are? if not measure from 1 hole to a horizontal hole, NOT DIAGONALLY

Okay. I have 2 options one is 73mm and the other is 83 mm. This is pretty strange... So are there sill some good options for this case, or should I just give up?

Okay. I have 2 options one is 73mm and the other is 83 mm. Are you sure it's not supposed to be measured diagonaly? Because if I measure it diagonaly I get 100mm and 120mm. Which seem much nore normal to me.

Yeah i'm sure its not diagonal, they are 70 and 80mm fan mounts. Also old cases never really have 120mm fan mounts. It is hard to find quiet fans at that size as the smaller the fan the louder the fan.  noctua and Be quiet! make decent 80mm fanshttp://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=9&lng=en  but I don't know any good 70mm fans.

I don't see why alot of people hate the SP120's tbh :/ the 2 quiet edition's that I use have been great at the 7 volts that i've set them, the air flow's good and not loud at all
