Really though I'm super happy they won. The final play in 2OT was unreal. Martinez took the shot and it paid off.

 

I was hoping LA would win since Mike Richards is from the small town that I live in.

While I am glad the Rags didn't win it is unfortunate for me the Kings and Quick picked up another Stanley Cup.  Pretty soon they are going to be in Marty and NJ Devils territory for SCF wins and appearances and Quick beat Marty head to head. :S

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I'm a big Willie Mitchell fan, so I'll take some comfort in that.

 

But I'd really rather Alain Vigneault won one after being booted so unceremoniously out of Vancouver even though I think he did a fantastic job of coaching a team that just plain wasn't as good as he made them.

I guess all the stars aligned for them, when the goalie wasn't performing they were scoring, when they weren't scoring the goalie was performing, they eeeked out three 7 game series, tough road to the finals for them. 2 boring low scoring teams with great goalies and defense. Would have rather watched some high flying hockey like Chicago Vs Pittsburgh for my own entertainment.

The only reason I give a crap about the Rangers at all is that I like Vigneault. Couldn't care less about either the Rangers or the Devils otherwise.

 

Eastern teams really don't get much coverage out here, so it's hard to get attached when I don't really know any of the players (other than obvious ones like Brodeur)

I was for the Rangers mostly because I live out here, partly because it's a way to bond with my cousins.

Haha, I've grown up in NW Ontario so I've come to love Chris Pronger, Staal brothers and Mike Richards. As far as teams go I'm definitely a fan of the Flames
