4k or 144hz

Depends. If you play fps games 144hz will give you an advantage. If you watch a lot of content 4K might give you that crisp resolution.

i think 4k...more hertz usually has not that much good colors...but better have 1440p

4k display, 144hz is not tat special and often cant be used, 4k on the other hand is good, you can get tons of relestate and when need be run at 1440p or 1080p

1440p maybe? otherwise go for 144hz we aren't ready for 4k gaming at decent fps even with that beast gpu.

Since windows scaling on 4k is still horrible and you still wont get 60fps playing in all games on ultra, especially as games get more demanding

Not 4k. You won't even see nice frame rates with that card. I mean sure, you could play at lower settings, but...if you're spending that much money, don't you want the best?

I'd go for 4k, but that's personal preference. You just need to decide wether video quality (4k) is more important to you than extreme smoothness (144hz). For me 60hz is fine, but your mileage may vary as Linus would say ^^

Get a 4k monitor with highest hz you can efford for thats what the r9 295x2 was made for 4k gaming and you should still get 60 fps in games like bf4

I have a similar dilemma too. I've gone for 2x R9 295x2's and a Asus PQ31Q as my main/4k display. For my secondary/gaming monitor I'm also considering a BenQ Xl2720Z if it has gaming performance over 60hz as well as 144Hz as I play fighting games as well on console. Does anyone know how it performs over 60hz?

It depends on the use, If you want a monitor for gaming? photo editing... 144Hz for gaming, 4k for photography and entertain.

I bought a UHD TV for when I feel like playing some less competitive games, and I have 144Hz Asus for most of the time. The TV is IPS, so it sucks BAD on FPS games, but even the Wii U looks amazing with the upscaling. 95% of the time, I'm using my high refresh TN panels.

If all you do is gaming and don't care about color or anything like that then 144hz else 4k, no point in getting outdated 1440p or 1600p monitors when 4k can do 1080p downscale with no loss if you need better fps, also in 2 years time high end cards will do 4k no problem then you would be regreting 1440p monitor!

All the people saying that current gpus can't run 4k at 60 fps obviously haven't tried it extensively. I can run most current games at ultra settings and only occasionally drop below 60fps with my single 780ti.
