Ok, so here's the loadout I've managed to put on the 300i. I'll try to fly it now but I had to post it before going in space :)

Actually it doesn't work. Shame. This hornet turret looks awesome on the wing..

I could see it in the ships systems but it was marked as "off". Lack of power in the ship maybe?

I'll continue with the research :)

So finally I didn't manage to make it work but I found something interesting. All the HUD functionality works weird. Even the arrow keys don't work in proper order. I guess it's because I'm using a x-55 hotas mapping provided by CIG.

Has anybody experienced something weird in systems management? I'm flying 300i. I'll check the hornet today as well.

I can't seem to figure out the Power Management System in the 300i either.  It sucks because I want to keep forcing energy into my rear shields since the engine is so easily shot off.  Its pretty much the only way I die at the moment and its hard to stop when there are 3-4 bogies on your tail no matter which way you turn to shoot.
