Thunderbolt dock

Any actual problem? Sounds like the generic message that pops up when "one device can do more than the other" but likely has no impact in this case.

Have you updated Windows, BIOS, firmware, and all drivers?

I encounter this pretty regularly, I haven’t noticed any difference with mixing TB3/4 except that maybe I won’t get the speed of TB4 since my device only does TB3.

 

Regardless, I would agree. Windows is simply detecting the dock being TB4 and the controller being TB3, and throwing a message up to inform users they won’t get TB4 performance.

Not sure how you test a cord by owning other cords.

 

You test a cord by using it between other known devices.

Ok the generic message comes up I plug stuff into the dock and nothing read. I changed the cord to see if that was the problem it wasn't. Can anyone help me with this. I went into the bios to see if the problem was there, it wasn't. Can anyone think of anything in windows that would prevent it from registering it does show up in windows. But all it let's me do is eject it.
