I'm having issues with my CPU AMD FX-9370, so it started last Saturday when I came home from a cruise. I started my computer like I normally do "power button" and a system restore came up. So I let it run figuring my brother or mom used my computer and didn't turn it off properly. Finishes system restore, I do a little web browsing then decide to play some BF4, playing for a few minutes until BAM my computer shuts down on me out of the blue, first time that's happened in the 5-6 months I've had it. I press the power button and it starts back up instantly, so I setup my CPUID MWMonitor, and CPU-Z. The temps use to idle at 17-25c and go to 40-55c when playing BF4 on high-ultra. Now they are idling at 34-40+C, and jumping up to the 70s and high 80s if I try to play BF4 on low settings and Payday 2 on low settings. I was reading what someone said about the CPU VCORE, and it looks like mine jumps a lot Min-.852v Max-1.488v. I'm not sure what to do, I've cleaned rethermaled and mounted my cpu and H80i several times, re-plugged all the cords even did some cable management to open up air way. But nothing helps.

did someone in your family actually do something to your pc? since you said nothing of this sort happened before

I know stock voltage is up around 1.4+ when at 4.7ghz. So that seems normal. You've done everything id recommend.. Maybe a bios update. But it sounds to me like you need to rma your cpu.

I contacted AMD to see if they could troubleshoot something but I've not heard back from them, I contacted newegg and the said I pasted my RMA period like a week ago... I updated my bios also. Might be something I'm missing because there's quite a few updates for my bios.

I'm honestly not sure, like I know someone was on it because I shut off both monitors when I left for my cruise and when I came home one monitor light was on standby. So yeah someone was on it but I'm not sure what they could have done to mess it up, neither of them know anything about computers.

you should at least ask what they did. if your pc started with a sys restore, someone did something to it.

Is your H80i running?

Yeah, I was thinking just that as well.

What is the pump speed for the H80i?

Do you hear any "normal" operating noise coming from the CPU Block / pump on the H80i?

the fans work, but is it still possible for it to maintain those temps if the pump died?

i'd assume it would overheat immediately and shutoff since nothing is bringing the heat from the block to the rad

I realize the fans for the H80i are fully operational. It shows that in the srceenshots the OP provided.

The OP did say, the system just shuts down after a few minutes of use. To me, the pump is either having some issues, or there is an obstruction in the tubing / pump, restricting coolant flow.

From the information given thus far, it seems to be a temperature-related issue.

actually, I just noticed this but his vrm seems to be at 128 degrees. lol

unless tmpin2 isn't for the vrm.

If it's at the stock 4.4Ghz then 1.488 volts is too high. You can lower the voltage to reduce temps. The H-80 isn't good enough to really play with the voltages on the 9000 series. An H-100 or better would be required.

Oh right. That's a very good point.

The FX-9370 at stock is only 4.4GHz.

1.488V could get you 4.8GHz - 5.0GHz...
