huh ?

not sure whats up with OP but its a reputable  brand

They brought out a device that does nothing else than taking USB input, 'cleaning' it and putting it out again.

edit: i bet on the inside there's nothing but a cable that goes around 1 time and comes directly out of the device again.

who cares...

Well, I can understand if there is an electronic device that helps minimizing the 'electrical garbage noise', but tagging it for $99, the same as their magni or modi, is kinda too much.

But then again, they produce it because it could potentially sells. Tyll from Innerfidelity uses a much bigger version to 'clean' the AC power signals

skip to 0:57 if you just want to see the device

*not saying it's true, or pure snake oil, because I don't have nearly enough experience nor the knowledge to make a claim....

>Stoddard and Moffat don’t need to play hard ball with demos and sales talk. Schiit’s now established price/performance ratio pretty much sells itself.

>Valhalla 2 is now fully ready for efficient, low-impedance headphones, with switchable gain and only 3.5 ohms output impedance in low gain mode (14 ohms in high gain). And Valhalla 2′s performance into high-impedance headphones is even better than ever.

well at least they're honest that it's a one port USB hub with a "clock" chip.  Least hilarious part of the article, ironically.  What's funny is how they now have to list their output impedances every time they release a new product.

"Pardon my French but this is just about the most ignorant blanket statement I've ever read. And though this is the internet, I'm not even exaggerating."

can anyone honestly tell a difference between bitperfect an resampled though? the conversion on windows vista and higher using direct sound is so good, I don't think any distortion is audible.

pre-vista it used to suck in windows.  It's fine now.  There are all sorts of anomalies associated with usb audio and resampling, but unless you happen to believe in Shannon-Nyquist, you'll just be like this guy only with audio:
