Bitlocker with secure boot on ssd

My current drive has from a previous system bitlocker and secure boot and if i disable it, it asks me for a passcode or key. Is there a way to remove it?

If you havent backed it up to azure, and dont have access to your previous build, then no.

Do you still have the old PC? 

That key should be stored with your MS account (scary!).

sadly i dont have the old build, sold it but what if i completely wipe the drive

So you have an unencrypted backup of the data? If so, then yes, reformat it

No i am just trying to get rid of that bitlocker thing

Just throw it into your new build / another pc and format it using the windows partitioning tool, or do it with diskpart cli if the gui progam won't let you.

If for some reason Windows has some protection mechanism to protect bitlocker... Use a Linux live iso. I bet Linux will not care one bit about Bitlocker

you should just be able to boot from USB and just fresh install windows on the drive, all your old data will be gone, but from the sound of things that's not a problem.
