NVIDIA Showed Me Their Supercomputer

i love how particularly bottomfed the youtube comments are on this one...

i like datacenter content, i love seeing the attention to detail given to deployments like these. requiring order to manage your fiber runs is one thing, but actually have the guys on the ground execute on that is an entirely different beast.

i wonder how many of those fiber runs were fixed by some senior manager before filming just to make sure all of it was mint, because certainly some intern cocked at least one of them up..

for all the hate of "ugh, nvidia datacenter" and -insert billionare hatred here-.. datacenter tech is just cool.. and you dont even need to be able to afford it to play with it, you just need to get an intern position as a junior in a datacenter.. i played with half a million dollars worth of servers and cabling when i was 18 😄

I feel this so much. Company I work for just shadowlaunched the biggest datacenter in the province and I had to go emergency fix a dozen racks of servers as they had a issue with dead water infecting the coolant loop :p. Very fun seeing 5x your yearly salary in a single server machine you are fixing and pretty cool to see it going haha. Too bad its already "horribly outdated" for ai slop tasks with gpu's from now last gen oh noooo hahaha.

But yeah I get the frustration of seeing all the hardware being there and as a consumer being unable to get anything. Fomo basically. It sucks and this video is probbbbably gonna go down in top 20 dislikes :p. Cool seeing datacenter stuff tho I like it

I remember seeing an Intel job listing and thought, that would be for me! If only I was younger. I might have been about 20 years late at that point. They wanted an intern for datacentre. Having said that, I have friends at IBM, and I hear they take software interns regardless of age.

All this money, and who releases an R&D AI model that can isolate sound close to 100%? The Zuck (SAM Audio). The social media guy.

Embarrassing for leather jacket guy. Nothing against LTT Crew/Linus doing this.

these guys do the research that makes zuck's research possible.

or in the video's analogy.. this is a testing ground for the golden shovels they sell to their gold digging customers.

-insert billionare hatred here-

Its tumultuous world, with more people aware of their impact, for better or for worse. Expect more of that animosity until AI companies finally walk to address the fundamental problem, or when the bubble burst.
