Some small youtubers are being ddos'd, who are targeting them and how do they do it? Do they have botnets?

I know it might not be secure, yeah vibecoding is cool but we shouldnt do smt unless we understand it and etc. thx but these disclaimers get old quick. maybe we shall be reminded frequently for we are stupid but i dont work at a nuclear powerplant.

What's being DDOS'ed?? Their home network? The servers they play on?

Who is targeting them? There are ~8 billion people in the world. Pick anyone or any three.

How? Sending requests to the servers they play on really, really, really fast and often.

Botnets? Yeah, could be.

Usually only on while at work.

There are botnets available for hire. So anyone or any group with the funds can DDOS anyone they want.

The people who hack the devices included in a botnet often aren't the ones using them directly. They earn money by making them available to others.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

some one has alot of systems or program on systems posably even program hacked systems and all at once its sens all of them to w/e website. if the provider can only handle so many people at once the site gos down or lags. mining is kinda like a bot net as computers can work together to do something...

can be phones, consoles, pcs or w/e

you can pay for views too.

DDoS'ing is a service these days, in a thriving and competitive market. so who? a kiddie with a strong opinion and 10 bucks to waste.

i recall seeing an article somewhere that the CRM software and customer portals used by these "nefareous hosts" so to say, are often more refined than legitimate services. as it turns out being a good enough hacker to get hold of a botnet to control also means you might be pretty good at making customer facing UI.

guys some people were actually useful and some people were whining about the lack of info 🤣. If i had more info i wouldnt be asking, its true some/most people (possibly myself included) post less info than required on forums but its also become an epidemic to whine about the lack of info.. i think there should be a rule around it tbh.

(and its not like the people whining actually help)🤣

You didn't even point out the youtubers who supposedly got hacked, which is literally the least amount of information you could have provided

Do you think this latest comment of yours is anything but whining? I don't think it's really whining to tell you that you didn't provide enough context to answer your question. That's literally just the answer to your question - We don't have enough info to know. All anyone else did was provide you with the most base level information about DDOSing, which isn't something you asked about.... Saying it could be botnets or might not be botnets leaves you with the exact same level of knowledge you had before you asked the question 🤣

Anyways - it's just a more vibrant and effective community when you post with all the knowledge you have. Posting vague questions only makes for vague answers which only makes for mediocre or even bad content. It's not really an epidemic, it's just how a forum works lol

To play devils advocate, who is getting DDos'd is not relevant. The question was more about how a DDos happens.
