I was wondering if it would be worth the cash to try and sell my ~2 year old RX 6600 and upgrade to a 5060. I don't have enough to justify a new build, so would it be better to stick with my current one (more or less runs fine) or upgrade?

Specs:

Ryzen 7 5700X

AMD Radeon RX 6600

32 GB DDR4 @ 2700MT/s

2 TB SSD

A 5060 is quite a bit faster than a RX 6600 so if you want some extra oomph in the games you play, its not a terrible upgrade.

The 5060 is meaningfully faster, but from your card, I would rather buy a 9060 XT 16GB or a 5060 Ti 16GB.

Though, I'm assuming you're playing graphically demanding games at a high(ish) resolution, since if you're only playing esports the 8GB isn't likely to limit you.

Is that 32GB RAM four 8GB or two 16GB...?
Two 16GB will free up some RAM controller load to run full DOCP...

Current PC spec. in my profile.
Can I realistically call myself a gamer, if I only play ONE, twenty year old game...?

Did you test boot it, before you built in into the case?

WHY NOT...?!

What could I get for my current card?

Looking on eBay in the US, it looks like the RX 6600 is selling for a bit over $150. Your local market could vary.

Just want an upgrade, my monitor is 1440p and I want better performance and graphics

In that case, at 1440p trying to push up graphics settings, I would strongly advise stepping up to the 9060 XT 16GB or 5060 Ti 16GB.

8GB is not sufficient for high graphics settings in recent titles. You will be limited to Low-Medium settings in many newer games strictly because of the VRAM if you get another 8GB card.

Then you want a 9060XT 16GB or 5060TI 16GB.

Or stay at 1080p.

Being cash strapped means understanding your limitations. Upgrading to 1440p on a 6600 requires a bigger wallet or better planning, for example.
