Is your CPU an i5 2500k?I think that matches the AMD 6000 series.

And which GPU?The 6850 or the 6870?

Is your RAM DDR3?

Anyway, the best way to get higher framerates would be to upgrade your GPU.

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

1st- How many FPS do you plan to get and in what games (and budget)

I think that RAM is going to be DDR3 fo sure...

Yeah.I realized just now.

The mobo wouldn't support DDR2 if it is Sandy.

Kill hungry processes before you start a game. IE: Chrome, players, etc. Learn to overclock to get more CPU performance for extra FPS. Apart from that, not much else unless you pony up for a new mobo or CPU; maybe both.

Did you literally just list IE??? Wow, what has the world come to.

"IE:" is another term "for example" or in other words. Should be I.e. but yeah, I can see why most people would think. My mistake, I guess.

Ahhh, kk, lol, thought you meant Internet Explorer :P

Edit: The second demon post I've made on LTT, and it's about IE xD

And as i sed

Hey man, welcome to the LTT jungle hope you enjoy it i know you will enjoy it.

Now some of the language you used may throw some people off so try to use standard English. It is not "sed" it is said....... :P

Now back to your question. When you are asking for help it is wise to give detailed relative information in order to get proper help. I am not sure what i5 you have but the four cores is good enough. If you want more FPS then get a better GPU but make sure your motherboard has a PCIe x16 slot and that your PSU can handle the upgrade.

Is it possible that the power supply can get to high for a computer and then destroy it self ?

No and yes; If the power supply is of extremely poor quality it'll likely take out a few of the components but that's if we're talking about really bad ones which might not even exist anymore.

If your system exceeds the wattage it'll most likely turn off to protect itself and your other components. If that never happened to you under demanding tasks like gaming, 1080p movies or videos then you're safe.

Anyways here's an idea to give us a better look at the specs. Download Speccy and post a screenshot for us to see. It'll give us a better look at your system internals.

OP has an Ivy Bridge i5, so its a solid platform. Just upgrade the GPU to a GTX 760 or R9-280 and you'll see huge fps gains.

I hope you don't take this in the wrong way as I just wish to help you out but i.e. actually means clarifying or rewording the exact thing you are talking about before the "i.e." for example "I want my games to run faster i.e. increase the FPS."

The equivalent of "for example" is e.g. such as "I want my games to run faster e.g. BF4."

Sorry to be picky but I just wanted to make sure people know which one to use. I hope you don't mind.

I don't mind at all. Yeah, it seems I was wrong. Thanks for helping me out letting me know the correct way.
