It appears there may be an issue with actually enabling Resizable Bar as pointed out here in the Jayztwocents video. He says its not affecting AMD system, but it definitely is. I have a 5900x and 3090 and shows enabled in GPU-Z, but in the Profile inspector it was disabled.

Here is my screenshot

I have not benchmarked or tested before/after but Jay had massive gains in benchmarks just from changing 3 settings in the driver.

Did some quick testing on my setup with Port Royal both on fresh reboots after setting changes to ensure no variances between and basically got the same results. Maybe its not actually affecting AMD and only just showing disabled?

Maybe, but the evidence presented shows a clear massive gain just from doing this, at least on his 14900ks and 5090 in Port Royal. I was not able to get the same gains myself in my quick test I ran. Hopefully more testing can be done by much more qualified people who have a lot more time to dive in and check a lot more things than I have time for.

If I remember correctly, reBar was a mixed bag on Nvidia initially. Some games ran faster, others didn't and some even lost performance. So Nvidia explicitly enabled or disabled the feature on a per-game basis. Maybe it's working as intended now, but they simply never retested things and as such never updated these profiles.

Sounds like a bug in profile inspector.

It's working for you. But for Intel, who knows.

@xAcid9I haven't found a game yet, not benefitting from rebar enabled. I guess you run a more recent system than your 980 ti sig rig?

Looking at some YT videos, some games/setup doesn't benefit from Rebar enabled. Some even have performance regression, even on Radeon GPUs.

Yeah my sig is outdated. I'm on 7600 + 6600XT now.

I see. I haven't found any games that show this, but might have to test some more 🙂

Thats my thoughts after testing in a similar manner as Jay. Figured it would be the easiest way to confirm/validate.

Correct, this was a very concerning video but not surprising from Jay who puts out a lot of content off the cuff with limited understanding of what's going on.

ReBAR is enabled on a hardware level but if its actually applied in game comes down to Nvidia's profiles. Some games do not benefit from it at all and some even will run worse. This has been the case since ReBAR became a thing. That's why its applied selectively per profile.

Its NOT a good idea to blanket turn this on globally.

Why its not being enabled for 3DMark is a different question entirely but a global on in all cases is not suggested.

Good to know. I really made the right choice by going with AMD.

Gaming Desktop: Ryzen 7 7800 X3D. RTX 4070 Ti Super. 32 GB DDR 5 RAM. 2 GB NVME SSD. 32" LG 4K OLED. Windows 11 Pro 25H2.

Console: PlayStation 5 Slim disc edition. 4 TB WD Black SSD. 42" ASUS 4K OLED 120 Hz.

Smartphone: iPhone 15 Pro Max. 256 GB. Black. Tello.

I did this on my 5900x and 3060 Ti system and had my doubts it would make any difference, but my frame time consistency is noticeably better, at least in all the games I tried that were a bit heavier graphically. For something that took all of two minutes to adjust, it seems worth it.

AMD Ryzen 5900X

T-Force Vulcan Z 3200mhz 2x32GB

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1
