Recently, my PC has been getting DX errors (I tried installing DX again, no luck), run time errors, certain programs won't start like Malwarebytes (I've reinstalled 3 times), and for some reason Chrome will default to Yahoo and when I change it it just goes right back. I even got a BSOD today. Any ideas as to what is going on? I think it might be a virus (why this is in operating system and software)

Thanks.

Boot into safe mode to see if it does any retarded things. If not, scan from there.

create a partition on one of your drives and install windows on that as well, to see if it does any retarded things.

shouldn't take more than an hour if you already have a copy of windows nearby and safe mode is inconclusive.

Yeah :(

Is there anyway to do that without completely starting over?

It's not a start over, it's a new partition to make sure it's a hardware issue, which it sounds like it's not so...

safe mode scanning or scanning with a bootable it is.

If you have a spare drive you can install windows on that one and boot into it. Then just drag and drop all your files from the original drive to the new one. Freshly installing programs is always good, because many programs when they update leave old files behind which never get used, and they fill your drive up making it slower :(

Hopefully with safe mode you can run some virus scans and try to remove any registry errors (with ccleaner) and maybe get rid of some nasty virus :C

Sounds like your PC has caught a cold! :P
