Hard to tell given your time frame is still 6 months away, but there is a decent chance prices will likely creep up.

Hello! I'm considering buying a 9060xt later in the year (closer to Christmas) but I'm wondering of they will be alot more expensive. The Gigabyte OC 16gb version is "only" 389.99 and I'm wondering how much that price is expected to increase. Thanks!

Have the same plan and I wouldn't be shocked to see it go to about 450. In any case, there's claims that "supply is good" so there's a good chance of getting it at about the  ~400 price. It's difficult to give an exact answer cause the card's only been out a couple of days (not exactly enough time to look at consumer behaviour) but just keep checking on the prices. A weekly check would probably be best.

I really don't see any reason why they would, save for tariffs in the US. Since the launches of nVidia and AMD's cards, prices have steadily been going down as availability has improved and the hype around the new generation died down. AMD sometimes even does some (admittedly small) discounts around the holidays.

I say we don't be so quick to fearmonger.

Sure, but they did it with the 9070xt and there are signs they are doing the same thing (rebates for the first shipments to hit MSRP).  One reviewer wanted an 8GB card to compare to his MSRP 16GB card.  The 8GB card cost MORE than the 16GB card.  Same model.  I really think in 2-3 months we are going to have a hard time finding cards that aren't closer to $400 than $350.  It may be back down closer to MSRP maybe sometime next year but there is a lot of uncertainty in that.

How are you at putting cash aside? While the card is basically at MSRP, and GPUs don't tend to fall in price, the 9060XT isn't the card you want to go all in on.  If you could add another ~250-300$(plus holiday discounts) to your budget in the months before Christmas, you'll most likely be able to get 5070/9070 cards or a comparable tier GPU.
It is very probable that jumping the gun now on "CHEAP" will cost you in back thoughts and elbow biting before Christmas, and a sour taste after.

If it were to go to $400 would it still be the best option at that price point?

It starts to lose the value proposition in the current market around 420ish.

Keep watching. Prices are crazy after launch and seem to cool down after a few weeks.

At which point what gpu becomes better? Or is the 9060xt just "less good"?

It's so dynamic and depends on the price of other cards really.

That depends if you root for discounts more than you root for inflation.

Most of that has been paused.  AMD openly stated they were offering discounts to get to MSRP.  This only applied to a certain number of cards.

Has it been? Tariffs used to be all over the place, sometimes paused, sometimes 200% markup.

That's why shipments to the US were on hold, and we've been back to 30% since last month.

Since the OP is waiting anyway there's Black Friday ahead (biggest holiday of the year) 🙂
