I'm about to build my second gaming PC with a 5080 and I'm looking for a monitor to compliment it.

I'm struggling with deciding between an IPS or OLED monitor.

I want an IPS because:

Don't have to worry about burn in.

No vrr flicker

I want an OLED because:

Better refresh rates

Better image quality

The two cons of OLED (burn in and flicker) are making me lean toward the IPS.

What are your opinions?

Any suggestions for an OLED gaming monitor?

Price: around 600-800 CAD

Resolution: 1440p

Size: 27

personal preference when u see both side by side

i wouldnt be too concerned about burn-ins, flicker is usually model specific so you can simply google specific models and other user feedbacks

for watching streams i'd go with woled hands down for the true black

for a mix of content/competitive gaming, i'd go with qd-oled

for single player games i'd go with mini-led for the colors.

for oled i recommend the 273qp, for mini-led i recommend the g27pro

For higher end builds I'd lean OLED these days. I wouldn't really worry about burn in unless you do desktop stuff all day with fixed UI on same spots. The flicker more of a VRR issue with larger fluctuations, depends, there's more to it. But I have not really experienced it since I got my monitor.
