Questions on Zippers Regarding Used Backpacks

I saw the sale prices for the used Backpacks on the store and immediately jumped on it. 
I then noticed the disclaimer about the Zippers and Carabiners. 

As someone who didn't pay attention to the original issue, can someone fill me in on the timeline, events and the differences?

If stock persists to Friday evening, perhaps this should be a topic on WAN to inform people before they buy.... I feel this may be an issue.

I called my sister, a seamstress for 30 years, told me that if the zippers are from YKK or Talon they are the best available and well known for the extreme durability, ease of use, and resistance from jamming.

The old carabiner style zipper pulls were prone to snap if force was applied to the side of the carabiner hinge.

YKK is an amazing company to learn about. They're very vertically-integrated; they make the machines they use, they smelt their own materials, and they even make the shipping boxes.

So basically;
Zippers - Fine, good to go.

Does anyone know - the backpack says it comes with may come with zippers, do we know if that is in place of the defective carabiners?

On the carabiners. No one has ever produced a very good one. The least worst are the ones that instead of the standard "clip-style" are the ones that screw together. Their less prone to breaking and even if you bump them they won't come apart and in this case, how often are you going to take the strap off?

You can buy replacement zipper pulls in 9999 places for basically free.  The zipper part should hold up fine
