Hello guys n gals

Hope you all are doing well

Stay safe and healthy

{Remember your opinion is highly valuable for me}

As we all know that bethesda has given a huge surprise to their fans by revealing and releasing oblivion remaster at same date...I hv seen many happy faces over internet sharing their opinion but the point is, the gameplay is still 19 yrs old. Is it enjoyable especially when u have played games tht hv realistic gameplay like kdc2, bg3 etc...

I mean people obviously grew their expectations as technology keeps on advancing

Please feel free to share your opinion

Even without nostalgia, I think the (remastered) game could've released today and still have been enjoyed.

Not saying it would be AAA, but if the remaster was a new release today, for $40 with the expectations of a double A game, I genuinely think it would be well reviewed.

Edit: Slight further clarification, I mean if this was a new IP, random game that showed up. Not a game with any Bethesda or Elder Scrolls baggage/expectations.

To me it's the good old Oblivion with some improvements on some mechanics, only thing I dislike is the bad "local area map" and that's basically it. Better shell for same game. As said before - really nice nostalgia hit.

What's this useful for?

Hits the nostalgia HARD for me. So it was an easy decision.

Have you played the original? Do you like RPGs? Do you like Bethesda's games in general? Fallout/Elder scrolls etc.

Hey @NinJake

Thnx for your opinion

Yea I like dark soul games, witcher and fallout...however my taste for rgp games have changed after playing witcher 3.

I hv player skyrim when I was in college(completed my 1st semester) but didn't played it as I hv said before, before witcher my taste for an rpg was way too sour.

That doesn't really mean anything.

Good gameplay is good gameplay, regardless of age. This is why most Nintendo games are timeless classics.

You might be missing out on "quality of life" things, but I would assume the remaster have added those in.

Might be somewhat less hand holding than most modern games, but if you played any Elder Scrolls game then it's not too unintuitive.

Still fast travel and quest markers are helping a lot if really lost otherwise.

That's right, if you've played games like Elder Scrolls, you won't be too confused. It may be a bit old-school, but it's still fun, especially since there's fast travel & quest markers, so you won't get lost too much.

No, I don't have a ton of free time to play games so I only play the ones I really want to.
