Hello, so I have been having problems getting my PC to do a gig download when hard wired it will do a gig wireless same with all other devices, but it won't wired. I've tried switching cables to premade ones that are rated for a gig I've even made my own linked at a gig but no dice. The fact that it will do full speeds wirelessly makes me think something is wrong with my ethernet port on my PC. I've also checked to make sure the port is open to a gig. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciate. Thanks

What about the other end, the other LAN port wherever that is?

If you have another device with a 1Gb/sec port, you could always direct connect and TCP/IP try a data transfer using Windows sharing feature.

If it was an issue with the cable or port you would likely have issues with connectivity or you would be capped at 100 Mbps. The reason for that is you only need 4 out of the 8 wires / connections for a 100 Mbps but you need all 8 for anything faster. This leaves me to believe there could be an issue with Windows.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
