5090 with MFG 3x (two generated frames) results in 144fps if the base framerate is 48fps

If you have FGphobia, ask yourself if the 5090 is capable of achieving 4k 72fps in all games with maxed out settings. Because if it can't, the 6090 would need to have over 100% performance improvement over the 5090

Idk why I bother wasting calories on these kind of questions

Come back in two years...

We aren't getting a RTX 6090 for at least two years. Discussion is pointless.

GTX 1080, May 27, 2016

GTX 2080, September 20, 2018  +2.31 years

RTX 3090, September 24, 2020 +2.01 years

RTX 4090, October 12, 2022        +2.04 years

RTX 5090, January 30, 2025       +2.30 years

RTX 6090, March 26, 2027            +2.15 years ESTIMATED ON AVERAGE TREND.

Thanks!

I just want the 6090 to run GTA 5 at 144hz 4k on max everything

is  that  too much to ask for bros

The first GPU that was fast enough to AVERAGE 4K gaming around 144 fps was the 4090. There will always be games running much faster or much slower. So yeah, I think it's pretty safe to say the 6090 will be able to do that. But still, it's kinda pointless to think about what next gen's flagship can do when the current gen isn't even widely available yet. And again, the last gen flagship already does it.

the 4090 and 5090 can barely run silent hill 2 on 60fps lol.

and  yes. i know the game is unoptimized. but modern gpus should still  have the power for atleast 2x that.

Like I said there will always be games like Silent Hill or Alan Wake that are harder to run than your average game. Modern GPUs do have the power, but devs are lazy and crutch on stuff like DLSS instead of actually optimizing their games on a technical level. So we either have to brute force it with insanely expensive GPUs, or try to hold the devs to a higher standard.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

my friend has a 5090 w fake frames and i've seen that it just looks horrible. well not horrible but you can see noticeable colour smudges

having seen the 5090 try to run stuff at 4k, even if i expect a 40-50% bump for the 6090, it won't be close, but if the settings arent maxed, 4k/120/144 is already doable.

Also keeping in mind that a risky card running at 600w shouldn't really count.

The 5090 JUST came out. There isn't even any rumors of 6090 at this point. Come back in 2 years.

5090 handles pretty much everything at 4k (with upscaling here/there depending on things like RT) so it's likely the 6090 will as well. I mean I run 4k on a 4090 and it runs pretty much everything!

Are you talking 100% native?  There is no reason to not use DLSS.  I have yet to find anything that gets to at least 80-100fps on a 4090 with just upscaling.

hey, I can speculate a double node shrink and be possibly correct.

Make that the rumor and spread it around. It cant possibly backfire.

Sure. And a $100 price to go with it. Speculating is fun.

At least mine is plausible. N2 is ready "now". The PDK is out and about

10k for the 6090

look realisticly.
4GB GDDR7 chips, probably similar cost per die, so like 7-8 per chip?

if its a double node shrink, 30k for the wafer
If the 6090 is like the 4090, 50 dies a wafer. = 600 for die alone, expect 2k again
if the 6090 is the size of 5090 (N2 is the LAST node before High NA, give this size a salute goodbye), 35 = 860 for die alone, expect 2.5k+ for the price.

If intel a18, they use high na, NEITHER configuration above is possible, and nvidia has to go chiplet. I could not even speculate.

Dude i agree , but i doubt we  even get any TSMC Chips

Can you rephrase that? I have read it 4 times and I dont know what you mean.

I think he means that by the time the 6090 comes out we will have a chip shortage or tsmc will shut down? idfk.

for gaming GPUs, PCIe versions dont mater unless you overflow the VRAM.

There is no reasonable way to push enough draw calls into a 5090 to saturate even PCIe3x16

outside of lane cuts (which become problematic if you run an board with older versions), PCIe is one of the stats to pay the least attention to.
