I've been running without a sidepanel for two years. As long as you don't have kids or pets, it's fine.

Thats a bummer.

Why wouldn't it be okay?  The sidepanel has no real function in terms of making the PC work.

Just keeps the dust out if you are drawing air through dust filters with your fans.

A few days won't hurt 😄

Good luck!

Plexiglass / Acrylic is "easy" to cut and drill at home. Just take your time and use sharp bits / blades (don't rush it or it will crack). You can get large pieces in various sizes and thicknesses at the hardware store. Just as a backup plan.

I was just about to say the same.
I'd go for 2mm thickness, easy to work with, and not too thin.

Personally, as an alternative, I'll get a DIY mesh dust filter/cover grills with magnet frame or magnetic strip, you can't find one that fit your case. It's almost like playing without the the side panel, which temp-wise, almost always better than with side panels on.

You can run the PC without a case for years even, so having no side panel is more than fine.

Sorry about that, but Fractal is a great company from all I know so you should be able to get this resolved.

Somewhere safe, looking the other way. So, "tempered glass panels" are glass-glass panels, not acrylic "glass". But then it's a disposable single-use case - break the glass and gg.

It's very rare to break a glass side panel.  Similar to how rare it is to break a sliding glass door, or office entrance door... But it does happen.

I've driven hundreds of miles with my fractal r6 in the trunk and nothing happens.

It's a fluke thing.

So you get a replacement side panel, not a big deal at all.

No different from the tempered safety glass in your car.
Break the glass and it’s GG.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

Tempered glass is tough stuff... when it's hit on the broad side. Nick an edge and it instantly turns into junkyard diamonds.

Inexpensive cases use acrylic or Plexiglas, but premium cases use real glass.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

Yepp, i was installing the side panel while my case was up right and it fell out of my hand and hit the ground at its corner.

I would probably consider paying a few extra bucks and getting it laser cut to the exact dimensions I needed

Sure, if it is an option that doesn't involve hours of driving or considerably increasing the price (due to labor and/or shipping).
Most hardware/home improvement/craft stores have sheets available (pre-cut to some dimensions), but from my experience, you'll rarely have the option to get them to cut it for you... or you will but it doesn't make economic sense. That is how it is where I live, your experience might be different.
Let's say the case panel is 40x45cm, a 50x50cm 2mm transparent acrylic sheet is like 5$ max.
If the service costs 25$ more, then you might as well cut it yourself or heck just buy a new case.
But if you can get it pre-cut for 10$, or 15$ pre-cut + drilled then yeah, it makes sense.
