Cant join the LTT discord server.

Hello! i recently created a discord account and wanted to join the LTT discord server, but when i join i get kicked, why is that? is the server not taking in new members or is something else going on?

nope, did not get that far, i instantly get kicked no explination, maybe the account is too new and the security system dosent like it?

The forums and the Discord are run entirely separately, so we can only help so much.

 

In general, in order to join your account has to have 2FA enabled and have a verified phone number, and there's a minimum age the account has to be as well. Not your birthday-related age, they automatically kick brand-new Discord accounts as a measure against spam.

 

I don't believe linking your forum account to your Discord account will make a difference, but it couldn't hurt. (You can do that from the Account Settings page.)

thats big cringe. using a phone as 2fa is very insecure.

Discord also does one-time passwords through an authenticator app.

My account is verified using 2fa + an phone number connected to it, its also connected to the forum.

To help prevent spam & abuse, newly created discord accounts are blocked from joining the LTT discord. You'll have to wait and try joining again at a later date.
