Pretty self explanatory, but is it alright for a fanless psu to run 24/7 like a server would be doing?

something like:

Seasonic SS-460FL2

or

Rosewill SilentNight-500

Or should I go with something else? It's only a file server.

CPU: AMD FX 8320e | Mobo: Gigabyte GA‑78LMT‑USB3 | Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper n520 | RAM: 8Gb @ 1333MHz

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 mITX | PSU: Antec HCG 520w | Storage: Sandisk 120GB - WD Red 1TB | Case: Modded IBM A50 sleeper

If your staying under max wattage I dont see why not. You could always get a regular Seasonic or Corsair PSU that keeps the fan off until it gets to a certain load just to make sure its not going to burn up so you get the best of both worlds

Considering how the Rosewill SilentNight is a Super Flower Golden Silent unit, it can function as a 600w Gold unit with the potential to SLI/CFX certain cards with its native four PEG connectors. Considering how this is only for a small file server and the cost of the unit, however, the Rosewill would offer you poor value in comparison to the Seasonic.

Quite honestly, the Rosewill Capstone 450w would be a good option. While it isn't a fanless design, it is still a quiet PSU.

More or less. 24/7 but not 365 I turn it off every now and then but I'd say 4 if not 5 days of the week its on.

What so worried about 24/7 specifically with a fanless PSU?

Not having active cooling, I'm not sure how it'd stand without a fan.

Perfectly fine since it designed to. Its not like they just removed the fan from a standard PSU. You do need other fans in your case though for general air flow. I only have 2 in my itx build. If you want check out the log its in my Sig.

Remember those PSUs with fans that don't turn on until 50% load or so? That's effectively how a 500W fanless PSU cools itself. It's a 1000W unit that is made to only reach 50% of what it is capable of so it never needs a fan. The extra space where the fan would be is used for slightly better cooling with larger heatsinks. The efficiency on these units is typically pretty high so less power is wasted to reduce the heat output further.
