Can I run BF3?

Go to solution Solved by Sauron,

What FPS do you reckon I will get? Would it make it better if I were to get 8GB of RAM, or not by much? I've seen videos of BF3 running on low settings with Intel HD graphics 4600 and it doesn't look bad to the extent that I wouldn't enjoy it.

Hmmm, I'll have to get a job over the summer haha. Anyways thanks for the replies.

While I always recommend 8gb of ram, that's not the bottleneck on a system like that, it's the integrated gpu. FPSwise you should get 40ish fps at 720p, not very good but if you will get that gpu later it should be ok for a month or 2.

Hello, I'm thinking of building this PC:

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/nikeshp79/saved/n9kwrH

I intend to be using a 1080p monitor, would I be able to game with Intel HD 4600 graphics on BF3 with 4GB RAM? I don't mind going down to 720p - I will buy a graphics card later when I have the money. Oh! And I will also be buying an Asus H97 motherboard, it's just they aren't showing up on PCPartPicker.

I'm sorry to be asking such things, but I want to make sure my specs are good enough to do what I want. I don't mind if the fps is ~25fps because apparently you can't tell the difference (Not entirely sure about that statement, and I'm not a hardcore gamer either).

its gonna suck but it will work

buy a dual core i3 and a AMD 265 or 270

Or buy a fx 6300.

Here is a build i recommend for the same price: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/cCrdxr

Add another 4GB stick in the next 6 months. You will be able to play on high settings with this rig.

You are welcome.

Yes I have read it. And I saw it. An Athlon can handle pretty much everything. Also if he would go for the config I made he wouldn't have to spend any money on a gpu afterwards.

The athlon can handle pretty much everything and has a great value. Also the config I made has more ram, a better hdd and a bettr PSU.

a better hard drive...you mean a differnt hard drive....

more ram, better psu-granted i agree but id say the 6300 is equal value but will last longer. dual modual's/ hyperthreaded dual cores will start to limit in the future wheares a 6300 will have lots of overhead, he really dshould jsut get a 6300+2x4gb and an r9-270, the rest is largely tit for tat.

So what? If people tell me that they want a 4930k and then only have 50$ for a GPU i will change that aswell.

He said he would buy the gpu later. Are we done with this? This thread is marked as answered. He simply asked what he would get on bf3, not what WE would have bought in his shoes.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I actually want to get an intel CPU, as Sauron has identified. I appreciate all of you who are suggesting to get an AMD CPU (possibly?) to fit my "budget" but I will be getting a GTX 760 in the future - and was just simply wondering whether the Intel HD4600 graphics would suffice for a few months.

Thank you  :)
