Sky do you like them ?

i just had to get through to a sky call centre regarding an issue and the amount of ads i was bombarded with on the phone was crazy; how they get away with it i don't know.  now i am wondering .

A) have you been with them before or are you now ( UK regioned question )

B )who do you prefer out of you companies you can get.

C) if you had a choice would you choice virgin media or sky ?

D) what are you experiences with sky or you current service provider do you like them ?

E) What speed do you get in general for how much you pay.

tbh i do get sick of sky constant bombardment about their tv, it is not even that good.... they honestly need to get with the times .

regards

Why do people write titles like this?

You mean "Do you like Sky?"

Noodles do you eat them?

Cars do you drive them?

Birds do they fly?

I use Sky TV and Virgin Media internet. I prefer being able to use TVheadend to distribute TV around the house and not paying extra per month for multiple Sky/Virgin tivo boxes.

Sky use the BT Openreach infrustructure for their ISP part. You would get the same speeds no matter what ISP you used (apart from Virgin, since they own their own cable network).

For TV, Sky pretty much rules the air, other than that, Virgin Media and BT would be my selected favorites... Although none of them are that great in the grand scheme of things

yer but the amount of ads they have if you go anywhere with them , like their website or the call centre adverts for their tv is everywhere. you can't get away from it . i miss the call queue music now :(

Were they the guys that sued Microsoft over SkyDrive and had them change it to OneDrive?

i would just go all virgin TIVO is x10 what sky HD is and you don't pay extra for HD channels with virgin media either. i do see where you coming from though. But people preference vary with companies i have never liked sky ; i was forced to go with them and i want to leave them cause of so many problem and slower internet all round :L

But the sports, movies and overall coverage is better than someone like ITV...

but these days every company has sky sports; also BT sports as well :3. Tbh more companies need to catch up on internet never mind tv how england is still sitting at a 20Mb/s average i will never know . Oh yet BT. internet is the future and companies need to come to terms with it.

I only use Sky TV because the signal is broadcast over the air and I can pick it up using a sattalite card and dish. I use a USB CAM reader and OSCAM on Linux to use my subscription without using the Sky box, and TvHeadend running on the same server to act as a TV server and DVR.

I dont think any of it would be possible with Virgin Media TV, and id be forced to put new cables to each room I wanted a virgin media box in, instead of just using the existing ethernet and low power computers.

fair enough , still it costs an arm and a leg for their tv , like 32 pound a month just for one box :L , compared to virgins like 2 for 34 if i remember correctly

A) Yes to both and I also worked for them as a technical assistant, which was one of the most ridiculous jobs ever.

B ) Virgin Media, but BT comes in a close second.

C) Virgin Media, Sky do not own any of the network, so they charge ridiculous amounts of money for poor speeds and data caps.

D) Used to have the complete Sky TV package years ago, seems kind of pointless now.

E) 120Mbps with Virgin Media for £18 per month as a loyalty customer.

The only reason I think anyone would choose Sky would have been as part of a package, but who needs Sky TV these days? Even if you live in an area where (partially) fibre optic isn't an option, it's still better to goth with the people that supply the lines... BT.
