is there any fix to a bouncy scroll wheel on razer products?
I blew some compressed air in around the wheel and it fixed it for a few weeks but its back again.
even scrolling a web page is stupid with it randomly going up instead of down several times per scroll.
pretty mad i buy a nice mouse after using the same china brand one for 12 years and it lasts 10% the life

Razer is known for severe quality issues. Most likely the scroll wheel mechanism has failed as is normal with most modern mice of them.

Besides replacing it little to do.

You can open the mouse and see if there is some gunk stuck in it and clean that out. If there isnt well its just broken like the rest of em.

They arent any special really? Theres probs 20+ brands that have products of same sensor quality or better. Besides dont get too hung up on sensor quality its a nice to have but theres many pro gamers that use "dated" mice and do wonderfully with em.

I've had a razer mouse since the Orochi, now 2 Viper V2s and yeah.. I got that same issue. I came across this article on reddit:

And blowing really HARD into the wheel has been the only good temporary fix that has ever worked for me. It worked for both mouses with varying degrees of lasting results. I use them daily.

Like, everyone.

Sensor precision has been a non issue for probably a decade. Non educated gamers want ultra high DPI that pro gamers don’t use.

Is that still true? I remember it was commonly shared knowledge that pro gamers used like low DPI Intellimouse Explorers back when I was searching for gaming mouse back in early 2010s. But it seems like everyone has moved on to ultralight Logitech since then.

it feels like the arena shooters like Fortnite, Overwatch, etc have all drastically progressed gaming mice minimum qualities.

It very much is an it depends, whats popular at that point in time, whats their current sponsor, what are they used to,...

Theres plenty out there using non standard mice today it all reallt comes down to what these people are used to and guess what became the default good enough gaming mouse in mid 2010's recommended to everyone? The g502. So all the kids from then usually stuck aroubd logitech. We also had a wave of razer stuff for a couple years before when those were the default and so on and so forth. You then see when the teens of that period try to go pro that they are using what they know from their teen years as good. Which may or may not be true any longer

Theres still plenty of I went pro on random dell mouse type of deals and whatnot.

Intellimouse Explorers

Theres some still using these.

Keep in mind that between that mouse and now we got BIG developments in sensor accuracy. However just like with phones there were some years where every month something wow and innovative happened but now its tapered off to just being slightl improvements on the same things.

yeap, you buy a new one like with all razer products.

they're nice to use but quality is a known issue with razer products.

if you still have warranty you can rma obviously,  that's how im on my 3rd razer "wolverine v2" now. 😉

why is "ultralight" suddenly a thing? my 502 hero is rather heavy, and i wish it was a bit heavier tbh... i like the weighty feel...  seems more placebo like "playing at higher framerate than your refreshrate" kinda thing, sure it works, but only as long you believe in it lol, placebo is pretty strong after all, even can cure serious illnesses (even though it technically does nothing)

ah unfortunately i bought it 15 months ago, i assume its just a standard 12 month warranty or something.
its a razer viper 8k. it wasnt too expensive and its even cheaper now, i just hate the waste of it.
whats more frustrating is that I got too used to the dual sided thumb switches since I often use mouse with whatever hand is available when I'm working on something else. I guess its a pretty niche feature in a gaming mouse since wasd is counterproductive to use with right hand.

I have the same with my basilisk ultimate currently, havent been able to find a permanent fix sadly, thinks its just the usual razer nonsense, i quite like their products but i do feel like they should last longer in good working condition sometimes, thinking of going for a G502 next as its about 10% heavier or so iirc, but thatll be a little further down the line (fingers crossed)
