I am thinking of buying a Rtx 4080 super. Should I wait for the 5080 or just get the 4080 super?

@Jacob Rotkowitz RTX 5080 is almost certainly going to me more expensive. Not only did the RTX 4080 originally release at $1200, but we are approaching the limits of what traditional silicon-based transistors can do which will drive up manufacturing costs, not to mention AMD is now pulling out of the high-end GPU Market with Next-Gen RDNA-4 which means Nvidia will one again have a monopoly at the high end and they can do whatever they want with pricing.

 

The RTX 4080-Super is a very good choice for either 3440x1440p Ultra Settings + Very High FrameRate or 4K High Settings + Very High FrameRate.

 

As long as you have a powerful enough CPU to back it up, a 4080-Super is a solid choice given the $200 price drop.

I don’t know if this is a dumb question but I have a Rtx 4070 Galax and want to sell it to buy a higher end card since I haven’t been getting good fps in 1440p. How much would I be able to sell the card for? I’ve had it for a year and it is basically in perfect condition

Check around on other 4070's for sale in your area to get an idea of what they are listed for.

Drop the price a little to undercut the other 4070's and that should do

I am switching cases and GPUs soon. I have NVIDIA now and will be getting nvidia and should I before I swap cases use the ddu software or swap cases use the old GPU and use ddu then switch the GPU?

I’ve been having crazy frame drops in games at 1440p even when I play Fortnite or valorant in 1080p I have crazy fps drops. I’ve tried everything to fix it

Doesn't sound like a GPU problem. Sounds like you more than likely have unstable ram or an overheating problem.

I have really good ram that I’ve tested and my temps are extremely low. I bought it on Amazon less than a year ago so I’ll try to rma it

If they're both Nvidia GPUs, you don't need to do anything at all.  The drivers are all there for both, they won't conflict at all.

usually nvidia drivers contain drivers for all current models at least,  why do you think they're 500MB +?

No, the computer will not be able to tell a difference if the case has been swapped

nah pc cases typically don't need drivers. 

 

also it literally doesn't matter for the gpu, it will use generic ms ones until you update/ ddu the proper drivers.

I have a 850w psu and will be getting a 4080 super zotac soon. I want the lian li connecter do I need the 12+4 connecter or is the 12 pin to three 8 pin good? The 12+4 is that to another 12 pin which my psu doesn’t have.

Does the cooler master v3 vertical mount fit with the gigabyte aero 4080 super?

No, the 4080 Aero is a quad slot (I assume the aero super is same size or bigger). The V3 mount can fit a card up to 3 slots wide.
